I started my second process book over the last week. The link to the PDF is here: 4/18 MAYB SP2025 Process Book
So far, it looks very similar to the one from last semester with slight alterations. More changes may happen as I continue working on it but I want to make sure I don't want to stray too far from this aesthetic. I already went ahead and added everything I've made this semester in there with the exception of the set-up process since we just started printing on Tuesday.
I created some 404 pages loosely inspired by the "blue screen of death" and played around with motion and blending modes on the web.

Experiemented with some vellum printing with the laser printer. Interested in the transparency effect on paper. I took one of the boxs I made last post and crushed it up to mimic street litter and made this sort of Ad that takes up a whole sheet.
This is the final poster in the series, representing biological origins.
I used today to go back and revise my postcard. Not much has changed in terms of layout, but the graphic on the front received major improvements. I plan to order them early next week.
(WIP) Danger in Beauty
Lately I’ve had an interest in the lengths people go for beauty and how beauty seems to be one of the most important things to a lot of people. That’s crazy to me so I tried to find a way to describe the absurdity of that in a way I can relate to. This landed me on the topic of poisonous flowers seeing as flowers are most known and sought after for their beauty but at the same time they can be an extreme danger for the owner and/or their pets and children. I happen to find that this danger makes these flowers even more beautiful and this danger is why I’m drawn to them. I’m well aware this makes no sense but many people are like this regarding other things so I’m here to show the beauty without ever letting people forget about the danger.
Updated Show Layouts
Here are the spreads of the booklet so far, I need to finish one more spread for the seminar section then I will start on the final part about walking. I want to revisit the language later, so filler text for now.
I tried not to be so literal with the design, but the name just calls for it imo.
Today, I started working on my exhibition postcards. The front of the card is pulled from the cover of my process book but the proportion and colors are different. I actually like how the colored pixels look because they resemble the banner with all my hybrid signs. In addition, I also designed two different versions for the back. I'm not sure what I should do to improve them but I'm open to suggestions if anyone has them.
Under Construction is a satirical look at my process of procrastination during Senior year. It draws inspiration from the work in progress designs seen frequently on personal websites in the 90s and 00s. The plan is for the project to be a bit of a brainstorming playground website of random things.
I just started messing around on Cargo and brainstorming some elements for my concept of Under Construction. There isn't any layout or sense to it right now but I've been experimenting.
Based on some stories I've heard about chewing gum and other food products—a satirical riff on a piece of packaging I love.
Thinking about making an ad featuring this in my zine... needed to make the things first of course.
just some minor adjustments. still working on the posters that go over the stripes, so still have a place holder there.
