I finally figured out how to generate improved AI-type solutions as I move forward with my investigation!
While messing around with Firefly, I discovered that the secret was the style reference option. I'll admit that I tinkered with the setting before while making Prompted Images, but I greatly underestimated its ability to reproduce typography. It seems that the AI recognizes different typefaces and fills in the blanks with similar examples pulled from Adobe Stock.
With this knowledge, I documented my findings on the spreads shown below (this will not lead into another booklet, it's mostly preparation for my process book). The results aren't perfect, but they are far more legible than my previous attempts.
